A Forum of Lesbian Advice
One of the great things about "Dear Melissa" is that it's part of a Forum. In other words, every member of CuriousLove is able to join in the conversation with advice and thoughts of her own. Our members are wildly different, and they often have very different advice on the same subject. If a member writes in because she's fallen in love with a married bisexual woman, you can bet that members will respond in a number of different ways. Some will tell her to go for it, some will tell her she's crazy, and some will wonder what she's doing with a bisexual girl in the first place.
Melissa Steele wanted to create a community with CuriousLove.com. Nowhere is this sense of community as evident as in "Dear Melissa." Our members reach out to one another with advice and encouragement. One girl wrote in because she sometimes feels embarrassed about being gay, and then is ashamed of herself for feeling embarrassed. Another wrote in that she doesn't know how to have an orgasm.
A bi-curious member wrote in because she wants to date women, but has no idea how to approach them. Women of every age write in with a variety of problems that are really important to them. Our other members respond with encouragement, advice and a lot of wisdom.
